Greater Louisville BCTC Recieves $400,000 in Grants for KentuckianaWorks Construction Pipeline Project
The Greater Louisville BCTC has received a $400,000 grant for the KentuckianaWorks Construction Pipeline Project, a program created to recruit women and minority workers into the construction trades for projects in Louisville.
The initial funding for this project was approved by Republican Governor Ernie Fletcher and the ABC was a partner in the project. The ABC has failed to place any graduates of the program in an apprenticeship program and the current funding excludes the ABC as being a participant. Additionally, the program incorporates the Multi-Craft Core Curriculum as part of the project. Total funding for pre-apprenticeship training in Kentucky exceeds $1 million.
